HNC/D Administration and Information  

Description: This two year, full time course, which may be studied part time by negotiation, reflects the vital role and function that administration and new technology play in the world of commerce. The course develops a pro-active role within the management structure of an enterprise along with the information skills required for the up-to-date office. After one year of full time study candidates may obtain an HNC in Administration and Information Technology.

Content: Office Admin | IT in Business | Word Processing | Spreadsheets and Databases | Desk Top Publishing | Office Technologies | Office Management | Project Management.

Options: Languages | Law | Admin Procedures | Managing People and Organisations and European Union Institutions. Entry Requirements: At least 1 Higher Grade pass, an SVQ at Level II/III or an appropriate group of NQ Units and an acceptable standard of communication. Applications from mature learners without formal qualifications welcomed. Entry by interview.

Qualifications & Progression: A group of SQA HN Units with possible progression to 2nd or 3rd year degree stage. In order to achieve the HNC/D Qualification the candidate is required to pass graded unit assessments. Employment prospects could be found in any business where administration and new technology play a part.
