Millinery: Advanced  F18R 35

Description: Ideal for individuals with prior knowledge and skills in millinery. You will learn advanced millinery skills and techniques. This course is ideal if you want to design and create a hat for a wedding or a special occasion.

Content: Candidates will produce a collection of advanced millinery samples and a finished millinery item to demonstrate the use of conventional and unconventional advanced millinery techniques. Blocking complex shapes using "difficult" fabrics are key skills which will be developed. A folio of related research material and design development evidence will also be produced.

Progression: PDA in Textile Accessories at SCQF level 8 - group award code G9F8 48 or may link with and articulate to other HN awards. May lead to employment / self employment.

Entry Requirements: Prior knowledge and skills in creating millinery items and / or Millinery: an Introduction F18P 34 - must be over 16.
