Millinery: an Introduction F18P 34

Description: Ideal for individuals with an interest in hat making. You will learn the skills required to make hats using a selection of millinery materials and techniques. This course is ideal if you want to design a hat for a wedding or a special occasion.

Content: Candidates will produce a collection of millinery samples and a finished millinery item to demonstrate the use of conventional and unconventional millinery techniques. A folio of related research material and design development evidence will also be produced.

Progression: Millinery: Advanced F18R 35 or P.D.A. in Textile Accessories at SCQF level 7 – group award code G9F7 47 or may link with and articulate to other HN awards.

Entry Requirements: No formal entry requirements however candidates require a keen interest in making hats - 16 years or over.
