Vocational – ECDL Top Up
Description: This course is for anyone who wants to certify their computer skills according to a pan-European industry standard. Large multinationals have already adopted the licence, setting it as the performance benchmark they expect from their employees. Having it opens the door to career opportunities, prepares you for full participation in the Information Society and power-steers you into the technological future.
The syllabus covers the following 7 areas:
- Basic concepts of information technology;
- Using the computer and managing files;
- Word processing;
- Spreadsheets;
- Databases;
- Presentation;
- Information and Communication.
Each of the above modules is assessed via a test. Training can take place in the college or the workplace, but assessments must be taken in the controlled environment of the college.
The student must purchase an ECDL Log Book from the college or directly from the British Computer Society. On passing a test, the Log Book is sent to the British Computer Society for processing and candidates are issued with a Computer Driving Licence which is recognised internationally.
Entry Requirements: Learners must have their PC Passport as this course is aimed at individuals who have previously started the course but have modules to complete.Student must be over the age of 16.
