Vocational - Art and Design: Printmaking

Description: The course will accommodate different Printmaking abilities with an introductory illustrated talk. By showing different Printmaking methods, this will be followed by a discussion to gather ideas and preferences. Course members will then be induced to a variety of Printmaking Media including:

Dry Point (using an etching press to print from a scratched acetate surface) | Quick Print | Paper Stencil Screen Print| Card Print | Lino Cut | Mono Print | Digital Print (using a state of the Art Large Format Digital Printer).

Candidates preparing an Art School entry portfolio will find this an ideal opportunity to develop and augment any work in progress. This course will also be suitable for beginners to Printmaking. There may be an opportunity to display work in an end of year art show.

Throughout the 10 week course, the running order for these shall be set in response to the class’s preferences.

Advice and feedback on drawings and sketchbooks will be available. Strategies for creating images will be offered and explored.

Entry Requirements: No previous art experience is necessary and good enjoyable results can be achieved with an advanced, intermediate or beginner’s level.

Any class members wishing to try large scale work, digital works or multiple works will be expected to contribute towards the cost materials.
