Virtual Learning Environment

Blackboard, the College’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), is available to all Learners at North Glasgow College. It is a web based system that supports and enhances the teaching and learning that takes place. Blackboard operates over the internet meaning learners can log on at any time or place and have access to a range of learning and teaching materials to support the College course in which they are enrolled.

Online collaboration through Blackboard is possible using wikis and blogs, email and texting, and we encourage all students to participate.

From within Blackboard, all Learners will have access to course documents, subject results, attendance and other information made available through support services.

Learners will be provided with an account on Blackboard, will be given an introduction in the use of Blackboard and will then be given access to various courses on the VLE. Additional sessions will also be offered on a class by class basis, and cover the fundamentals of Group work, Project work and e-Assessment.

All College learners are encouraged to use this modern resource that utilises both new and emerging technologies.
