Facilities

The faculty of Creative and Applied Arts is a vibrant, vivacious faculty that boasts some of the best creative facilities in Glasgow,  with custom built Jewellery, Fashion, Photography, Art, Music and Sound studios. Almost everything offered by the Faculty is on one floor, providing learners with centralised resources.   Art, Fashion and Jewellery use the superb ‘Winter Garden’ to present their end of year shows.

Fashion

The Fashion Department has an excellent reputation with Higher Education and Industry as one of Scotland's leading Fashion Colleges.  Full time NQ and HND courses cover Fashion Design, Production and Retail and are taught by highly skilled and experienced staff.  We also offer evening and day time courses for those wishing to continue their professional development or who wish to learn new skills such as Millinery, Corsetry, Soft Furnishing or Dressmaking.

Fashion houses excellent facilities that provide a stimulating and creative environment for learners to work on their cutting edge fashion, corsetry or millinery creations. Bright airy studios, superbly equipped workshops for designing and making garments, a fully equipped millinery work room, computer suites with the latest fashion industry “Lectra” design and pattern cutting software, all enhance the teaching excellence within the Fashion courses. Entry to our full time courses is highly competitive and an early application is advised. 

Photography

With a ‘built for purpose’ dark room, the photography studio and workshop is self contained providing the learners with an excellent environment to work on their photographs.

Sound Recording

The staff lecturing within this area have designed a studio complex that enables students to gain hands on experience of working in the field of audio production using industry standard systems.  The Sound Production complex is situated within the main college building close to the music rehearsal area and includes 7 fully equipped studio control rooms that have full interconnectivity to 9 separate live areas.

Music

Learners have the opportunity to rehearse in solo and band sound proofed studios.  This provides them with an excellent working environment that is purpose built for their requirements.

Art

The art studios provide learners with bright working area conducive for the creative field they are working within.  HND 2nd year and Degree students have their own custom built spaces in a large studio environment.
